We will provide a bag of real rough mining rock and mineral samples to sieve, clean, and investigate. Read about the definition of a rock, mineral, crystal, and gem and learn about how they are formed. Observe, draw and describe your geological samples on our observations worksheet.


Then, decorate a small wooden treasure chest. Paints and small paintbrush are included. Markers or crayons or other decorative items may be used from your stash at home. Store your new-found treasures in your treasure chest once it's dry!


This activity is great for children ages 5+. NOTE THAT THIS KIT CONTAINS SMALL PARTS INCLUDING ROCK, MINERAL AND CRYSTAL SAMPLES. PLEASE KEEP THIS KIT OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN 3 YEARS AND YOUNGER!
