Stephanie Zweig-Brown President/Co-founder Stephanie has a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and has worked in architectural practice full-time for more than fifteen years, designing mostly for nonprofit clients, including religious institutions, state facilities, and affordable housing. Her portfolio includes a LEED Silver mixed-use project with photovoltaics, solar thermal, heat recovery system, and green roof. Since taking time to be home with her children, Stephanie has designed locally on a consulting basis and volunteered for various community groups. As she began seeking STEAM resources for her kids, she discovered a gap on the North Shore, and co-founded SteamWorks with Sabina Hurley, where she could combine her creativity, professional experiences and mom-skills to bring engaging hands-on STEAM activities to children. Stephanie lives in Marblehead with her family.
Sabina Hurley Treasurer/Co-founder
Sabina is an Aerospace Engineer with over twenty years industry experience and the mother of two elementary school aged girls. After graduating from Colgate University with a degree in Physics and Mathematics, she started her career as a satellite controller at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. After a few years, she wanted to return to the Boston area, where she had been raised, to be near family and the area she loves. An opportunity working as a Mission Planner for the Chandra X-ray Observatory made this possible, and she has worked on the Chandra mission ever since. She is now the Flight Operations Manager, responsible for both day-to-day operations and long term maintenance of the Chandra X-ray Observatory spacecraft. Having children strengthened a life-long interest in childhood education and eventually led her to team-up with Stephanie Zweig-Brown to co-found SteamWorks.
